Cracking day. What I don't get is why everyone leaves so early though - queues of at least 10 cars to get on track in the morning, but past 3.30 i don't think there were more than 10 cars on track at all. At the end, I was doing lap after lap without seeing anyone else. The days don't come cheap - I'm surprised people don't want to get full value out of them.

Does anyone have the website for the photos or any in car videos?

Cheers

I left at 3:30 because it beginning to rain and I didn't fancy driving home in an open car in the dark/wet.

Really enjoyed the day (pit lane queues aside). First time out in my X-Bow.

I really enjoyed the convoy of Atoms going through Bedford as I returned from yet another fruitless trip to Wickes! I've only ever seen one in the flesh before, so 3 in 5 minutes was a bit over the top...

It was close, hehe! As you probably know the car was airborne momentarily before coming to rest. Good that you managed to get out on circuit again, car damage was minimal and you were unscathed.

Hey Adrian. What you up to these days? Didn't realise you were at Bedford on Sat.

First time I've had it on track. Car is totally standard including the Michelin PS2/PE Exalto road tyres. It's a high quality product. The finish and component quality is worthy of cars 4 times the price. Ran on track all day without breaking a sweat.

The driving dynamics and handling balance are exceptional. The chassis is beautifully composed and neutral. Turn in is super precise but not nervous. The rack is unassisted and has wonderful feel. Weights up as the aero takes effect. The gearbox and pedals are also superb although the throttle is touch too high making heeling and toe difficult. The pedalbox is fully adjustable so should be easy to resolve.

Brakes are very effective and response is consistent. Distances are so short I found myself frequently braking way too early. Could use more feel though and personally I would prefer ABS. The LSD is great. Behaves just the one in my 997RS - eg allows you to trail brake deep into the corner and then nail the throttle with no traction issues.

The engine and exhaust need upgrading. The chassis can easily handle another 100bhp. The exhaust is too quiet. KTM have an upgrade coming in January and there are plenty third party engine tuning options.

The aero is very effective above 60mph despite the road ride height settings I was on. At Bedford on the GT circuit I was flat from the exit of the first chicane to the right hander before the hairpin leading on to the main straight. Normally you need a JP1 or a Radical to pull that off. The X-Bow easily matched a Lotus 2-11 over a lap and none of the Atom's in attendance came past at any point during the day (cool down lap aside!) In fact the only thing that did come past (and stay past) was a JP1 on slicks.

Looking forward to getting the car setup for the track with sticky rubber in time for Donington next month.

Don't tell everyone, the last hour was the best for the reason you describe, everyone had gone home so the track was much less crowded.

Did not see the X-bow much after lunch was planning to come and ask for a look round. Not to stir anything but one of my Atom mates describes breezing past it wink

Was another good day, i have been going to bedford for years now, but the last few times the cars present on track are all expensive machinery.

I had the blue Peugeot 306, which does me proud time after time, and all done on a budget.

But always out with GT3's, Atom's, Elise's etc does get on my tits, forever being over taken on the straights and held up in the bends ?

What happened to it being a social day for all to attend (afford), seems its only the richer amoung us that can really enjoy these days now ?

The white GT3, X Bow or 2 Eleven in the pictures weren't holding up a 306 in the corners, straights or anywhere!! The day was not all about GT3s, Atoms Etc...plenty of people having fun in older BMs...inc a well sorted 7 series..

so what made you think it wasn't then? maybe......if your approach was as provacative as this post appears then you would have got the 'eave ho and misinterpreted this as marque (expensive machinary) snobbery when actually it would have been a reaction to your possible terse approach

......er!!!now you really are being provocative matey...this sounds like sour grapes boardering on jealously I can't understand what your problem is as you say Tracdays are for all to enjoy expensive car or track scrap just chill in the fact that you have a lot less investment to worry about if something untoward happens.....live an let live mate............PS if I've read your post wrongly then I apologies but somehow I don't think so, I await your clarification with anticipation
