Driving Experience Days

Hello

I'm hoping to book an "experience day" for my old man as christmas/60th pressie. Can anyone recommend a company to go with. I'm hoping to find a company that allows the guest to actually drive the car rather than a rev limited test drive.

Both modern cars and classics appeal.

I suppose it's a little different if it's a present, but I've found the lack of track time on these experience days a bit frustrating. In the future I'd be far more inclined to stick to regular track days. Not only could he take his own car (although he might not want to commit to the wear and tear associated with it), but you could hire a car for the day. That way you can really get used to the car, rather than having to swap to the next punter in line just as you're getting a feel for it.

I cannot recommend a Topcats day enough. Not cheap, but loads of time in a proper racing car, no stupid rev limits, a proper race instructor and altogether an exhilarating and exhausting day.

just make shore you know what your getting . i did a super car day. 5 cars 4 laps in each and £300 quid lighter and you cant even give it hell and leather. best ones to look for are a day in one car. Or one i really thought was the dogs bits was the Rally day at silver stone, in mk2 escort rally cars. This way if it rains it makes it twise as fun. as if you do a track one, if it rains you just drive round a track at a slow speeds.

owww and at the rally onse, they told use if you brake it dont worry they are rally cars and its expected. unlike a track days where if you spin out or crash that your day over.

I'd recommend one of track club's days. Quality driving time in quick track prepped cars.

I recently did a really good instruction day at Croft with www.imaginedoingthis.com

They do them all over the country and i would highly recommend them - we really got to drive the car hard, and the instruction side was great.
