Are there any trackdays where I can let a mate have a go in my Formula Ford?

... The only one I know of is Trackzone (Doningtons own)in which they don't have a problem. Just make sure he doesn't do what one chap did last Sunday, & put it backwards into the pitwall! They aren't running any days now until the beginning of February, due to complete track closure whilst they carry out work on the new circuit configuration. They did have three days remaining this month, but all were cancelled yesterday!

Couple of corrections there H! The work they're doing is putting a tunnel in to the infield between Mcleans and Coppice - no work on the circuit just yet! Also, last I heard it was going to be 23rd Feb before the circuit re-opens.

They haven't even applied for planning permission to extend the track yet. The British GP will never happen there.

Yes, they are carrying out various things, so they can move forward on the the important part after the first or second week of January!!

In reply to the second thread, the application is in process! Rome wasn't built in a day, be positive, man!!!!

They don't actually *need* to extend the track to run the grand prix though.

The F1 track at Valencia was completed in under 6 months IIRC. I was there for my birthday in June and the whole place was a building site - unrecognisable as a race track. That was about 8 weeks before the race!

Unfortunately it was still unrecognisable as a race track once they'd finished ...
