First track day near London

Brands is probably your best bet. Loads of days on the Indy circuit, best bet to start off though may be this:

Never knew they did novice days, but it might be worth a go.
Get instruction, it will make the remainder of your time on track much more enjoyable! Have fun!

I did a novice day at Brands Indy last year as my first track day and was very impressed with it.
And yes, well worth investing insome tuition, it's money well spent and quickly improves your confidence and ability to drive and enjoy the track. If you do it early in the day you'll soon be out-pacing other cars who are continually taking the 'wrong' lines.

Also worth trying Bedford Autodrome for a first trackday. It's not that far from London.
Supposidly good for first timers too - lots of run off area, no real gradient change etc?One of the Car Limits days at North Weald (one junction up the M11 from the M25 IIRC) might be worth looking into too.
