Hi all - am considering one of these days and wanted a full picture of the potential costs incurred in terms of vehicle wear and tear. I understand that my tyres will suffer however how about brakes? Any other potential items to watch out for?

Nothing like as much as a track day. Pump the tyres up when you get there to minimise feathering & the rest will be fine.

On a track you are constantly cornering, braking or accelerating & the car will get hot. On a car limits day you'll do one hard corner every few minutes with plenty of time in between runs for the car to disperse the heat.

The circuit only takes a few minutes too so you won't overheat the brakes, you'll use the ABS (or limit brake) a lot though.

Learned loads on the two I've done & it's given me the confidence to enjoy my car much more.

Thanks - that's what I was hoping to hear. I wanted to do the training to hone my skills in advance of a driving holiday coming up - but didn't want to knacker my car before the trip!

To be honest wear and tear wasn't too bad, even on my 'heavy' Impreza. Worth every penny in my opinion, learnt a lot and Andy Walsh was a great instructor. I'd like to do another as I struggled to take everything in on my first Car Limits day and I regret not doing one sooner.

it is a great day. I would advise checking your tyres at the end of the day though as I managed to pick up an embedded screw last time I was there. The space he uses is a market/car boot sale on weekends I think, so there is potential for there to be a few sharps lying around.

Thanks guys I'm going to book myself in now. My tyres are nearing the end of their useful lives anyway so what better way to send them off.
