Mallory park? anyone go?
Discussion
Hi!
Moved to leicester about a month ago and on a random drive stumbled across malloy park!
Well this made me very happy as I want to try and get more track time under my belt and its crawling distance from my house!
Just wondered where I whould have to go to book track days there and if its a good track?
Thanks!

I love Mallory Park as a spectator circuit; you can get really close to the action and easily walk around the whole circuit
whilst being able to keep an eye on most of the track action.
I've only done one Trackday there and I never really got to grips with it, and wasn't tempted to return; maybe my loss.

They don't run many days because of noise issues and its not a popular venue for rack days partly because its short and very unforgiving in the wet.
However, its a great but simple track, very bal**y and usually very misunderstimated/under utilsed in its potential for a driver.
Circuit Days and Focussed Events are the only people I've seen so far who are running days there this year. But there may be others?
They have general test days every Wednesday. Cars in the morning and bikes in the afternoon if you wanted to have a look.

I did a Formula 1 day there & thought it was fantastic but that was probably the car more than the circuit.
Having said that my first lap was in a Porsche & being very familiar with the car I really went for it & the section from the hairpin to devil's elbow provided some entertainment.
