The AD08 has been replaced by the AD08R. It's a slightly softer compound but if you can get them in your size should be fine to mix.
I'd be happy with either, but there is no stock and no production date for 235/40/17.PS Phazed has a pair on his track day Chimaera and puts 360+ bhp through them. I think he has them on the front with R888s on the back, but I have a 50% chance of being wrong.
PM him if you want his opinion - I think he is running them on 5 stud RL7s and knowing him, if they are the fronts they will be 17s and may well be that size.

Federal 595RS-R
Thank you.Is that because you rate them as a trackday tyre, or because they have similar characteristics as AD08?
Hope that helps.
I hated the RSR's on the Noble, bought them due to internet raving, and found them not much grippier than the Bridgestone SO2's on my other wheels. Wish I'd have spent the extra on 888's at the time. Also they fell to bits every trackday! Ruined my trip to the 'ring & Spa (along with brake vibration!)
Swapped them when they still had 50% tread left for Michelin PS Cups and they're on a completely different level! On my 2nd set of these now.

AD08 are 8mm, I presume AD08R are as well, as it is only meant to be a minor compound change.
Cool, this is what I am lead to believe as well, once my current tyres need replacing I plan on fitting a set of these.
)Yes, but.....
8 mm for a road tyre that will cope with some track abuse is excellent, but
An out and out soft compound track tyre with tread will overheat if the tread block moves too much. We all watch F1 - it would be like trying to do a dry race on wets. As we rarely drive for more than 15 minutes on track, and tend to use fairly hard compounds, we get away with our compromise tyres.
FWIW I love my Federal 595 RS-Rs on my one tonne TVR, both on the road and the track. As far as I remember they come with at least 6mm of tread. Does anyone know what the tread depth is?

Sorry if this is a repeat but you can get the AD08R at camskill in 235/40/17 at £164.95 - http://tinyurl.com/ptcdwxn and they're in stock.

Thanks, I will call them again. Last time I ordered from them online while their site said 'In Stock' they sent me an email a couple of days later apologising. It can be quite inconvenient to lose the use of £350 for a week/ten days while the refund is being processed.Forums | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
