Just wondered if anyone else was at Rockingham yesterday, standard of driving was abysmal, I have not seen the like since the GTR crashed into the McLaren at Bedford around a year ago.

Blue Porsche 911 was overtaking any side he wanted, that upset a lot of people. Fiat Abarth group there, corporate day with intructors, yet they were indicating left and right and driving any which way they felt like it, some of the drivers you wondered if they actually owned a car license and then a whole bunch of other drivers every 45 mins or so decided have their own moments causing red flags.

The organisers stopped the day at 11am to give all the drivers a telling off for bad driving.

I left at 4pm after the 8th red flag of the day.

Yeah me and three of my mates were there. It was shocking how bad some of the driving was!

We had a wheel bearing failure just after the lunch break that called an end to our day but while we were out we all noticed the Abarth's, the 911 & a clio that was waving his arms to get past when there was a bunch up of traffic, there's just no need!

For a good circuit it was disappointing that a few individuals stopped it so many times. We did manage to get a few good runs though

To be honest, I was actually quite impressed they stopped the day and called all the drivers in, MSV should have done that a year ago when that GTR was driving like a tool.

That said there were still far too many reg flags through the day.

Still unsure about Rockingham, I have not managed to get a good rhythm there.

Ive done a track day there back in march with trackaddict loved the track but there is no grip when wet. I went with my mates drift style mk1 mx5 welded diff etc. Rained over lunch and spent all afternoon going sideways with about 4 other mates in mx5s, all the big guns had gone home not wanting to damage there expensive cars and the last 3 hours just sideways everywhere. Few spins by most people but nothing major and don't think I seen a red flag there all day. Deffo be back next year with my exocet kit car with added turboness.

I was there; I was one of the many that made a complaint about the 911.

I love the way he was the one who didn't actually attend the telling off session until called via the tannoy.

I was there in an Exige with my coach (god knows I need coaching!). Full marks to Rockingham for taking safety seriously with the "telling off session" but also for not (to my knowledge) simply sending the offenders home. So although there were perhaps more than an average number of red flags during the rest of this dry day, driving standards did not strike me (or my instructor) as being that exceptional once things settled down.

I really enjoyed the afternoon in the sunshine all the way up to 5 p.m. and look forward to a return visit.
