Hanging GoPro from overhead passenger grab handle

I have found mounting Go Pros from the passenger overhead grab handle to be a solid way to mount a Go Pro (assuming no passenger), I dont have a roll cage or any other fixed mounting point. Would this be allowed on track?

Depends how you mount it, not where you mount it.

What car?

Might be worth googling "your car GoPro" and see what others are using.

Ie, you can get tow hook adapters for most BMWs, and sunvisor mounting plates for mx5s.

Its on a Golf it's solidly mounted to the grab handle using bicycle mounting clips - no movement at all although the actual grab handles do of course move up and down - but there is zero risk of the camera flying off under cornering or braking.

That would be no problem on track.
Only point I have heard is some tracks require suction mounts to be tethered.
