Jack for lowered car

Current jack has just packed up.

Need a replacement, I'm considering a trolly jack or anything really which isn't like going to the gym as I've got a slightly bad shoulder. Needs to be able to get under a fairly low car, light enough to carry up and down from my first floor flat and go in boot to track days.

I've got some credits on Amazon, but trying to establish what is Chinesium crap with fake reviews and what is worth money is a head ache.

Any suggestions welcome.

We used to sell this Sealey trolley jack at work, its got a 75mm saddle height

Generally speaking the ‘aluminium racing trolley jacks’ are what you want. Lighter than the steel ones although obviously not as durable. Fine for home use although beware they are far more likely to bend on an uneven surface.

I’ve seen SGS recommended but I’ve used Arcan and Sealey is a brand I would trust.

I’d try and buy from Amazon rather than eBay or direct (because buyer protection is better for borderline cases) and get a decent brand.

The other thing that I would look for nowadays is a company that sells spare parts for whatever you buy. The seals do fail (albeit rarely).

To add... how has your current jack packed up? They are fairly simple and mostly it is just the seals that fail.

I've recently bought the Halfords low profile jack. It's a decent bit of kit for the money, bigger than i thought, but only about 15kgs. The one downside I've got is that a. It needs a rubber pad built into the cup and 2. It needs a longer handle as lifting the car was a bit of effort. Or i need bigger muscles.

I've bought a jack pad for it, and then used a hacksaw to cut it to size, but it would be better if it came with one.

Alu/Steel so not as light as a Alu one but quite a bit cheaper.
