Sup guys.

I'm curious about how you book your track days and go-karting sessions.

How do you typically go about getting on track? Do you go through an organiser or book directly with the track?

For go-karting, do you just turn up or book through the track’s website if they have one? I've noticed that booking experiences can vary quite a lot depending on the setup.

I'm working on a project related to this and trying to get a feel for the common processes people use. Your insights would be super helpful!

Cheers, Sim.

Depends on track, sometimes i just look at the organisers I like & see what they have. Or if it's date specific from my side I'll look either at a generic track calender & then go to the organisers site. Or if a bunch of track pals are booking a certain date I'll just book that one if I can.

Tend to pick an approximate date, then look at the various tracks or organisers sites till I find something that tallys up and doesn't break the bank. Wouldn't say anyone's booking process is particularly taxing or difficult.

The rewards points, are abit silly biggrin I've got various accounts the various amounts of points on biglaugh

Id personally say 'circuit days', give the best overall experience. I like how relaxed there days are. And they don't seem to attract the budget test day guys.

That reminds me need to book something biggrin

Go to Open track website, check out their venues and dates, book one. Simples.

Book with a track day organiser. Usually javelin or msv, occasionally opentrack or circuit days. I have quite a few javelin points, works well.

No idea about karting... my mates do that, but i prefer going faster than 30mph, changing gear and having to actually brake, so i do trackdays...

Always book through the Track Day Organisers website I'm not even sure that it's possible to book directly with a track.

NEVER used Trackdays website - book directly with the organiser.

I see what track days are on and who they are with, with this site then book directly with the organiser

It is possible because it is the particular circuit that runs the day. So pick a circuit and phone the offices asking about days and who is running them. If it is just you then go through a recognised organiser. However if you have enough individuals ready to go (nice if you know who is sharing the track with you) to spread the overall cost between you.

I know this because we did two events direct with Goodwood. We went with 105 dB to allow us to pass the noise tests and that means only five cars at any one time. We split the cost between 25 of us. Photo doesn't show the whole group as it was like trying to wrestle jelly!

I look at trackdays.com and a few of my preferred TDO's.. with trackday.com I'll always try to work out who the TDO is for the days on their site to avoid booking through them and instead go straight through TDO (unless TDO is one i've not had a positive experience with)

With Circuits for karting, depends what karting and what circuit as it varies.. If it's rental then through the circuit karting website, if it's club100 visiting a particular circuit then i'll go through them for use of their karts. If i'm taking one of my karts or renting someone's rotax for the day then i'll tend to have an idea of what circuits I can goto/when I can do it and what I need to bring with me etc, if I had anymore specific questions i'll ask either circuit operator or whoever's kart i'm renting.
