Castle combe TDOs
Discussion
Hi all,
Looking to book my 4th trackday and my trusted Javelin is all booked up. Castle Combe is my local circuit and can see that there is 'uktrackdays.co.uk' and goldtrack both available in June.
My car is a seven-style kit car (old zetec engine, 130hp). I've just fitted some proper track tyres but it's not going to be troubling any proper racecars.
Wanted to get any experiences on how these TDOs compare? I've found Javelin to be great so far, good atmosphere/decent amount of track time - so really just looking for something similar

Don’t use uktrackdays.co.uk they are just a front and booking agency for actual TDOs. Go direct. Looking to book my 4th trackday and my trusted Javelin is all booked up. Castle Combe is my local circuit and can see that there is 'uktrackdays.co.uk' and goldtrack both available in June.

Try these dudes to get the date and venue and then book with the actual circuit (eg Silverstone) or TDO.

Something I think worth mentioning is how Castle Combe run their own track days. They call it "semi-open pit lane", and it's very annoying.
Cars are let out onto the circuit in groups of up to 12, every 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the chequered flag brings them all back in. If more than 12 cars are queueing, cars 13 and back must wait for the next session. If fewer than 12 cars go out, or if cars come in, any subsequent cars must also wait for the next session. IMO, this wastes a lot of time.
Days at Castle Combe run by other TDOs are 'proper' open pit lane; cars join and leave the track as they please, limited only by track capacity (which is determined by that day's noise limit).

Most of the track days Castle Combe organise are not like that. They occasionally do a Racing Trust track day or media day (which is primarily meant for people racing) in that format but all others are true open pit lane (albeit they limit the total number of cars on track at any one time)Cars are let out onto the circuit in groups of up to 12, every 15 minutes.
