Always much prefer watching TD vids where you can see what people are doing with their feet so thinking of setting up a 'pedal cam'.

Also means I can be like Senna: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8By2AEsGAhU

Has any tried this? It looks a bit dark in the footwell so what lighting did you use?

Cheers

I have, can't find any footage (not got round to uploading yet).
But it's basically the 2nd (rear) camera from a dual camera dashboard camera.

Main camera is 720, 2nd is 480 quality is 'ok', but they are cheap, (£35 each from ebay)
I have 2 set ups running, 1 with main cam front facing, with 2nd cam facing the driver/passenger, then the other main cam facing rear with the 2nd cam looking at feet.
I found no lighting was needed (in a tintop, during daylight hours).

I've done it before just using a GoPro - as above, lighting wasn't an issue in a standard tintop! Most complicated part will probably be syncing up the front facing and foot well camera if they are not set to record in sync.

I did it, not the most exciting footage in the world, but OK as a picture in picture or short clip.

No issues with lighting, mounting it somewhere was the tricky bit.

I use a Mobius HD camera for pedal cam, absolute bargain for around £50. You can adjust the light level/sensitivity on the camera itself, or in whichever video editing software you use (which is what I do).

Couple of example vids from my YouTube channel, one "hooning" at an Airfield day and the other at Brands Hatch giving charity rides:

My race coach always used to set the second camera of his 2-camera Race Logic system to capture what my feet were doing. I used to do the same with my VBox.

I do something similar. Useful to see what is going on down below - good or bad

As above, very useful, and all these new cameras will adjust exposure enough to let you see what's going on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDepDpO_P-8

It was Race-Technology Chris, Video4.

There are loads of footcam/pedalcam vids on my channel, just enter 'footcam' in the search box (magnifying glass)

I tend to use a GoPro and sometimes a single cam feed from the Video4 now. Easiest way to sync is "audio match" on the first gear change

I think there is a lesson be learned here and that's not to wear slip on shoes if you know there is a foot well camera smile

Hello all, trying to film a promo series for a competition on a Clio V6 Phase one and struggling to film a pedal cam for a private track day coming up. We have managed to get an old clio cup racer to film with us but i'm new to automotive photography and cant find a proper solution for mounting cameras especially for pedal cams etc. Any ideas ?
