I've been running the soft tyres for a while now, the 07RS, but frankly they wear out too fast for my liking. Zestino suggested a heavy-ish BMW (me!) would be better suited to the medium compound.

Ideally I wanted non rotational tyres, but has anyone tried the medium tyres and had a good (or bad) experience with them? I was gonna go back to Cup2's but the price is eye watering, the Zestino's are the same TW of 240.
Any feedback appreciated!

(Looked at AD09's, not in the sizes I need sadly).

I destroyed my Zestinos medium compound in 3 TDs in a lighter weight car. Always checked the pressures after each session and prior to using took tyre pressure advice from Zestino, very strange wear pattern. Friend of a friend had same problem with strange wear pattern. Now on Nankang ns2r. Done 2 TDs and an evening one. Tyres holding up very well.

I have some in 215/45/17.

Ran them on my R53 Cooper S and did two trackdays in them (a warm, dry Cadwell and a sopping wet Oulton in November).

They held up well and performed in both conditions. I also used them for road miles and found them fine.

Currently sat in the garage ready to be fitted to an MX5.

I'm not well versed in tires and in fact this year (and 1 TD last year) is my first venture into semi slicks so I'm still learning. I've been running AR1s on an MX-5.

The tread pattern on the 07Rs (at least to me) look like they would fair better as an intermediate tire where the track is damp where there is minimal but visible spray and won't dry fully by the end of the day. I wouldn't be surprised if the outside starts getting torn due to excessive heat which would just be made worse if the course has mostly right or left handers.

I'm not sure how AR1s fare on a heavier car but I've done 20+ minute stints at knockhill (which is mostly right turns) and they are holding up well. I'm running 12/9 kg Zeta race coilovers with -2.5 camber up front. They are warm enough after 1 lap if I'm feeling particularly spicey.

Sorry I can't add much more value to the conversation but if you can find some part worn AR1s you can at least give them a try before comitting to a new set.

Note: Don't run them in the wet. They kind of work on a drying track. Standing water = death, wet braking line = death.
