Are these still a thing?

I know VMAX200 use to do them at Bruntingthorpe but I think that's long gone.

What are the alternatives?

That's really useful, thanks!

Seems on the more expensive side compared to a regular track day. I presume you can have as many runs as you can fit in (taking it in turns etc.)?

I did a straight liners last year at Elvington, top speed was a turbo hayabusa clocking 273mph! Good day out very chilled.

Although I do see it says “must have a membership and a National Advanced Nora Licence to do this.”, which feels a bit unnecessary.

It's only an online form and a fiver. The days of allowing people to rock up and attempt 200mph without any checks or scrutiny are long gone I'm afraid. Once you've joined you can go whenever you want to any of their events across the UK.

Its £55 according to this link (Straightlinerds Ltd, National Basic, Adult Straightliner) - if I am reading the right thing?

last time I did this, I ended up with a spectacular explosion at 190mph, and an £18k bill for a new engine. These events are hard, especially on tuned cars. Never again!

Everything needs to be spot on particularly if tuned to sustain long full throttle pulls on a runway.

Sadly it was tuned at Bruntingthorpe and Surrey RR, but after 6 runs of VMAX, decided to st itself anyway. I think if I were to do it again, i'd borrow a turbo ZZR or Hayabusa.

Ouch. What was vehicle/engine?
