Today I lost my job which came as a bit of shock. I was dragged into a meeting and told the reasons which I don t really agree but hey go I hate the place so didn t really care.

My question, now that I am on the job market constantly trying to secure something else to plug the unemployment gap will my new employer find out from my old employer that I was sacked ?

I m not going to disclose it as they it’ll make it hard for me to get any job. My understanding it is just a standard reference these days - timescale and job title ?

It depends. A reference has to be factual, so they could write in one that you were sacked, because you were. Most companies won't, they will confirm dates worked and job title.

Apply for other jobs. If asked why you left your last place have a canned answer about it wasn't for you etc, nothing negative. Chance it.

Were you sacked for your alleged “dirty”
Protest , or did your boss find out how you’d stitched up a car trader ?

Or is this just more of your utter trolling bullst ?

Mods , why has obvious troll not been banned ?

Thanks for the response. Good plan and I will certainly chance it.

That was 5 years ago and I have moved on from that. I’ve changed a lot since then and have grown up. I was sacked for gross misconduct today.

If only he could wipe the slate clean.

Save him being canned by another employer.

Small update

The manager phoned back again today to discuss a few final details. They have realised that they have made an error and their investigation has more holes than a piece of cheese. This is what happens when trainee managers who have no experience try to do a job.

They have invited me to come back but I think this is now perfect grounds for unfair dismissal ? I don’t want to go back but would happily drag them through court.

Citizens advice here I come.

My thoughts exactly. Why sack someone when you don’t have solid evidence ?
