Hello all

After spending 20 plus years in IT i cannot take it anymore.

Growing up i was always obsessed with filth. Rats. Grime. Mr trebus if anyone remembers

What sort of jobs are these ? How would I get into them

Not sure what the job roles actually were

Thankyou

Thanks

Extreme cleaning.

I did it for a short while. It is really satisfying. Although scrubbing a st incrusted toilet bowl is not exactly living the high life.

Perhaps start with end of tenancy. Sometimes the police need people to tidy up after a crime.

Or house clearance.

Weren't we all? smile

The Environmental Health department of local authorities are a good place to start. They may well sub-contract stuff out but some will do this in-house too.

Some of the big Waste Management companies (Biffa, Veolia, etc) have specialist divisions that also provide such services.

If you're a full-on filth enthusiast, you could look at Landfill Engineering. This is properly getting down and dirty, particularly if you can get into international stuff in developing nations. That level though, will require some academic study unless you can latch onto one of the many international development agencies that operate in that sector.

The UK's biggest waste management show is coming up soon. Might be worth you getting along to that and doing a bit of research there: https://www.ess-expo.co.uk/rwm2025?utm_source=paid...
