Contractor rates in the US?

Morning,

I was wondering what are good contractor rates in the US at the moment, an opportunity has come my way paying $7-800 a day, but I have no idea whether that is good or bad in this current climate?

It is for a IT test manager role.

What does that pay here and do the maths.

do you have a green card? the yanks are very protective and won't let you work without one, there are plenty of roles in my field but all require a permission to work before you can even apply.
