OK, I didn't do well at uni, I got a degree in mechanical engineering, but a 3rd.
I was hoping to leave the mark off my CV and when asked about it be completely honest (obviously).
My worry is seeing a 3rd after my bEng would immediately put off a potential employer, but I also worry that leaving it off will have the same effect. Any advice?

Just put BEng and the subject.

If they ask be honest or lie your choice. I'd be very surprised if anyone checks these things nowadays.

Not with 300 applicants to each job to sift through!

In my experience in 2 out of the 3 jobs I've had since leaving uni, the offer for employment has been subject to them seeing my uni results certificate!

They will definately not ask at interview stages but if you get an offer it could come back to bite you..

I'd just put BEng without the grade, if this gets you an interview then brilliant! Once at interview stage its all about you and how you come across, not the grade you've got (imo). CVs, grades etc just help you get the interview..
