Design / FE Analyst Contractor Rates?

Hello,

Does anyone know what the going hourly rate is for a Mechanical Design / F.E. Analyst ?

Software is Pro/Engineer, Pro/Mechanica and Autocad, and the specialist area is Offshore Design (oil platforms).

If you are any good at FE, by which I do not mean just generating a mesh in a CAD package, I would expect that you could get over 30 per hour.

I was senior analyst (FEA) at the place I used to work (and worked there for ten years doing conceptual design, detail design and stress analysis). So I know the work inside out.

They want me to go back and help out because they are very busy at the moment. Luckily my current employer is happy for me to do this on a consulatancy basis. I just wondered what the going rate was, because I have no idea, never having done work on this basis before.

I would expect a little more ~ £35pa for equivilent work at EKES's former owner..
