Very dissapointed

Well, i'll keep it brief.
I'm 25 and since graduating at 21 was never really 100% sure which direction i wanted my career to take. Anyway last summer after much thought i decided to have a go at joining the RAF. I have an interest in RAF through the ATC which in which i am an adult voluteer and have held a VR(T) commission for coming up to 3 years.
On going to my local AFCO last August i was told what i knew...qualifications etc for the trades i was interested in. Basically i ticked all the boxes except GCSE maths which i failed at school and never re-sat....i should have done but never bothered, managed to get 3 good A Levels and a First without it. Anyway i re-sat it at the earliest opportunity, November last year, and got my results in the post on saturday. I got the grade i need, good to go.
Phoned up the AFCO today to make an appointment only to here that all of the trades i was/am interested in are no longer recruiting. The only trades which are recruiting are those which i am not qualified for/have no interest in.
Really quite gutted to be honest. There is still the option of taking the airman route or i guess looking at the Army or Navy, but i really wanted to have a shot at a regular RAF commissioned role.
I should have done this when i graduated i know but hindsight is a wonderful thing...
Oh well, guess i've got some thinking to do.

why don't you ask them when they expect to start recruiting for 'that' stream again?
ok, so they can't guarantee it but surely its likely that if they are not recruiting now, needs will arise in the future.
If its expected again in 6, 9, 12 months time, make sure you've got all that will be needed then go travel, do a ski season, volunteer, work a bar in Ibiza this summer OR something....
