Would this come across as rude?

I have recently been for an inverview at a company A. All was positive and I was to return for a second interview last wednesday. All still seemed positive and I was told they would contact me soon, probably over the weekend or early in the week.
Now, Last year I worked for company B. Only briefly on a temporary contract but I obviously made an impression as they want me to return this year, again , on a temporary contract (about 8 months). I had an interview with them mid December and they said they would contact me nearer to the start time (March) to sort things out etc.
Friday, (two days after my first interview with company A, Company B contacts me to offer the position I was interview for and asked to let them know, by wednesday, if I would like to accept the job. Wednesday comes and, as said, I had been invited to a second interview with Company A that same day. I attend the interview, hoping for an offer on the day but it never came as they were doing second interviews for the next few days. After the interview, I came home and emailed Company B to let them know my situation -
Would it come across as rude (and potentially rule out my chance of employment) if I email company A and ask if there have been any decisions made etc. and explain my situation that I would rather work for Company A but do not wish to pass up the offer with Company B if I wont be getting an offer from Company A etc.
Any advice would be appreciated as I don't want to mess up a chance with Company A as its good money, decent job, full time and permanent (which is a novelty around here) and they seem like a really good company to work for. Same goes for Company B though although the money isn't great and it's not permenant.

So. The weekend has been and gone and I have yet to hear from Company A with the results from my second interview. I have also had a missed call and a voicemail from company B this morning asking if I could call them.Just a quick email to explain my situation.

No harm in ringing Company A and asking if they're near making a decision. Be honest and say you now have another offer and would like to make a decision.
Which job would you prefer? if you play your cards right you can use this to get more money.

Company A is a small company, family run etc. This is the job I would like. Good money, good hours (no weekends!), good prospects, It's permanent and full-time.
Company B is a huge international company. This job is enjoyable but ultimately just a filler (with it being only temporary). It is, however, the only thing I have to fall back on, should Company A not come through. I don't want to mess up my chances with B as I have already asked them to wait a week for a decision and can't really expect them to wait again.

Company B made me an offer on Friday 22nd and asked if I could let them know by Wednesday 27th. I emailed Company B on Wednesday, explained my situation and asked if they could await my decision until early this week.
Early this week is here and I still don't have an answer but Company B are chasing me up (missed call and voice mail).
They need my answer because they are recruiting at the moment and having worked for them before, I get priority. If I don't accept the offer, they will recruit someone new and need to get the ball rolling, so need my answer.

Agree with the last comments of accepting B's offer and turning it down later if necessary. I assume, as B's offer is a temporary contract, there is no issue with notice periods etc if you do turn them down.
Also, while you don't want to burn your bridges with B, it's not like you'd need them for a reference for job A is it?

Deary me. The plot thickens. But ultimately good 
Had a call from Company A from a quy who I've never spoken to before. He said that the sales admin positions haven't been decided yet but they have another position that I might be interested in. He described it and it turns out it's the one I was interviewed for at the same time as the sales admin position.
We chatted about it for a bit and I expressed my interest and said I could start immediately etc. So I'm starting tomorrow on a trial basis Two weeks just to see how I get on etc. and if I get the sales admin job then I can choose whether I want to stay doing what I already am or move over to the office stuff.
Whey!! Something going right for once! Shame I already told Company B that I accept there job offer! Doh.

Be upfront. Tell them you have another offer, but that you prefer them, but that you cannot lose the other offer and so you need to know.
