My brother left his job recently. He just got a letter through stating that:
''You will be paid until your last date of employment and you will also be paid for a month in lieu of notice''
It is a one month notice period so the last date of employment is at the end of April. He is not working his notice because they didn't request it. Does this mean he will get paid until the end of April + 1 month?

They don't state which day is his late date of employment, which makes me agree with:''You will be paid until your last date of employment and you will also be paid for a month in lieu of notice''

They stated the last date of employment as 3 weeks after he handed in his one months notice. This is what makes us think that they may be paying him extra money. In the letter they referred to the day at the end of the month as the ''last date of employment'' and confirmed the day they received the notice as the ''day of resignation''.
Perhaps it is either a badly worded letter or they made a mistake by only paying him 3 weeks money instead of 4. Another months money is very wishful thinking.
