Discussion
I'll leave others to comment on the jobs, but I'll have a go at the uni stuff.
Firstly, there are loads of mature students. 23 isnt that old really, a lot of people only end up going after school at 21. Granted the 18 year olds will do your head in for a while, til they settle down a bit, but mature students tend to stick together anyway so dont let that put you off.
Secondly why would you have to rely on mum and dad? Student loans, plus a job over summer and a job during term time have kept me in good money. I have more disposable income that most graduates, by way of a lot of mine is tax free. Loans are tax free, then I only pay tax on anything over £6k, so thats pretty much 10k tax free. No council tax to worry about either. You dont have that many expenses compared to someone who has to buy petrol, pay mortgage etc. Only time parents are useful is the holidays when you go home. Over easter I went home for one night!
If you really want to do it, then go for it, if your umming and arring, particualy after working for a few years then just be sure. You wont have a regular income and you'll be committing yourself to 3 years.

Something doesn't add up..
job b pay 10k more basic than job a, which pays more than your current?
they want cold callers and good salespeople and are offering cushy basics? Doubt it.
Yep. It's institutional financial sales for a ''big brand''.job b pay 10k more basic than job a, which pays more than your current?

Can't comment on UNI as didn't go, but I hear depending on the UNI that engineering is a good degree to do as it gives you a lot of options that pay well. However one would imagine that the jobs above pay quite well if you're any good?

Any financial sales job offering big commission and basic generally means its extremely hard, you'll have to drum up all your own business and if you dont hit targets really f
king quickly you'll be out on your ear very quickly. You'll also have missed the uni opportunity. That big basic is great but only if it lasts.
The reason they offer big basics is to a) get people in the door and b) keep them there when the pressure is being piled on.
The reason they offer big commission is that a) the targets are probably sky high and c)paid once you have really smashed target.
If you're up for a challenge go for it, but as an adviser with a bit of experience, imho never chase the $$$, chase the quality of the job.
