Company has withheld part of my final salary

I should know the answer to my own question but am so flipping cross I know I am not going about this the right way. Please can someone give me a little advice how to handle this.

My old company has witheld an amount of money out of my final payment, I don't know how much as they are currently witholding my payslip and P45! They say it is for a bill of approx £300 that I should be paying which I beleive to be bullst.

Now if after research I am due to pay this then fine but they are refusing to send me the bill AND a confirmation they have paid it and therfore within their rights to deduct this money.

Just for clarification it's for mobile broadband in the name of the company but was for my use, I beleive the contract has expired and I should not be getting fined for early termination.

They are ignoring my emails now and I am too cross to call and I know they won't take my call anyhow.

What to do....anyone? Please don't say I have to do small claims :crossesfingers:

Can you physically go to their office? Lot's of people find being tough far easier via e-mail than face to face.

If the contract is with the company then they are responsible for administering it. I would be sending them a letter requesting all final payments to be made by a given date and lodging your grievance that they have withheld payment. You then lodge an ET1. I think the figure is something like 80% of claims are related to salary.

I could go but whether I get access is another question! I think a letter by recorded deliver is in order tomorrow if they don't give me what I am asking for.
