jobs in car sales

Hi guys anyone in car sales? reason i ask is because i would like to get into it, i'm currently doing desk based sales for BT and have worked for them for 15 years also working in the retail shops.
I know car sales is rubbish hours and rubbish basic but i've always wanted to give it a go, ideally and please someone correc me if i'm wrong but i would like to learn about the business maybe at a larger dealer and then look at working for maybe a smaller local traders where i may have a bit more input.....

any opinions, ideas, advice very welcome

If you do it because you love cars, unless you sell something interesting, it will probably ruin your passion. Cars just become units for sales and figures on the board. Nothing more.

I thought about Motorcycle sales, but the market is so flat in winter, I think i'd go mental sat in a dealers all day without a customer. The local dealer always looks so bored in the middle of January, it put me right off the idea.

This is definitely a bad idea, new bike sales are massively low ATM.

There are lots of threads on PH about jobs in car sales, my advice is don't do it.

Car sales are down,Dealers are going to the wall,garage staff are on the dole.!!Stick to phones, everybody wants a new type.
