Contract search websites

I know there are a few IT contractors on here so I thought this would be a reasonable place to ask. I've just returned to the Uk after travelling and working overseas for a number of years and I'm looking for contract work as a software/systems engineer (aerospace/avionics)

Can anyone point me in the direction of decent contract sites that aren't full of fake job adverts?
I've used jobserve in the past but don't know how good the different sites are these days having been away from this market for a little while.

Jobserve, cwjobs, theitjobboard. All pretty much of a muchness I'm afraid.

Some recommend posting your CV on these sites.

Personally, I just look through the above sites and send off CV when I'm a good fit.

Where are you looking to work, and what exactly do you do?

I'm looking anywhere in UK/Europe (will consider elsewhere in the world too). I specialise in software & systems for embedded systems with my background being primarly in the aerospace and aviation market, I've also worked with safety critical systems. I'm fluent in German and have intermediate level Spanish and entry level Italian language skills so a role in Barcalona would be ideal.

The finance sector would also interest me but as yet I haven't explored the technologies or routes into that market.

are you writing the software ? c, c++ .Net?

There's a contract kicking around in Poole doing .Net compact framework and, i think, embedded c++.

Thanks for the info gents, I've developed in C/C++, Ada as well as assembler so I'll ad the Poole opportunity to my list.
