The mrs and I were talking last night about the fact we never have any money, and we came to the conclusion we need to work harder / have an additional income stream...

I used to work on a market stall, and contemplated setting up a business doing this, but I understand Tesco's / Asda etc have pretty much killed this...

What about being an "Avon" person?

Hard work and a lot of hours for not much money, I would look elsewhere to be honest.

Cant, advise as to how to make your first million but I cant tell you to steer clear of avon. Its more for bored housewives to have something to rather than a potential money earner. You need alot of time to commit to it if you want to earn enough to make it worth while and Avon either sending the wrong items or not having items in stock was a constant pain in the rear.

My GF did it for nearly a year along with her full time job and it never made her any money. Spent more in fuel going out collecting and delivering orders. Even with a large customer base and enough time to treat it as a full time job it would be difficult to earn a good wage.

There are a few threads here and in Business that might be worthwhile checking out.

rather than earn more can't you trim costs down

get a better energy supplier
save on your life cover
get cheaper home insurance
get free offers
try to remortgage
shop around for car insurance
get cheaper cars
don't buy canned drinks get cordial etc etc etc
Good point, but was hoping to actually start earning some real money... I want a Ferrari one day and have pretty much given up on Camelot supplying it!

If your wife is open minded enough, there's money in the sex line business.
