Anyone ever heard of this?
Discussion

It has been recommended to me by someone I trust. I know the website doesn't give away a great deal but I wondered if anyone had ever heard of it. I'm intrigued, but it requires quite a healthy financial commitment, although the rewards sound worth it. I have a fair bit of healthy cynicism but wondered if anyone had any views?

In addition, I just found this which explains a little bit more.

No, I am not an IFA but I have a little experience selling insurance based products in the motor industry. As I understand it, part of the initial investment is used to train you to the relevant standard. I'm intrigued by it, but as I said I'm pretty cynical at the moment. I'd love to be proven wrong though...

In simple terms, as it was explained to me the software generates details of people who have been online and got a quote for, say, a mortgage. You ring them, if they are willing you ask them a load of questions relevant to the policy they are looking for, and then pass these details to the mortgage company. They hopefully send you a fully formed quote with monthly paymenst etc which you present to the potential customer over the phone. If they are willing to go ahead then you send a courier with the documents to them, they sign and the docs go to the mortgage company. In due course, they pay out your commission.

Don't people who sell financuial products now have to pass various exams and have certificates of competence?
Or is the "overseas" element of this an attempt by the main compnay to circumvent some of these UK regulations?
I've had a great idea.
I can guarantee you that you will gain £10,000.00 if you take me up on this.
Instead of giving £20,000.00 to this "friend of a friend", why don't you just give me £10,000.00 towards my next car. If you do this, then you will be £10k better off, and I will have a much nicer car. Everybody wins
How cool is that?

I only need £5K so you will be £15K better off with me.I can guarantee you that you will gain £10,000.00 if you take me up on this.

Seriously though, if you have £20K sat ready to invest then why don't you just think about what you enjoy doing, write a business plan and do it your self.
Www.paaleads.com sell leads from Money Supermarket. They have a web portal where you can choose what product you want leads for, and you can even break it down by the age and location of your desired customer.
I'll do you a discount as I'm a bit late onto the thread - call it £15k, and we're even. I'll take cash, cheque, Paypal or Zimbabwean dollars.
ETA - If you want to speak to Mr Cassidy himself about his proposition, give him a shout on +44 0208 1337448 or drop into the doubtless bustling operations centre of the "Omnypresence Group" - 3 Valroy Close, Camberley, Camberley, Surrey GU15 3TL. This information is freely available...
If you want a job selling insurance, go work for a broker on salary + commission. You won't have to invest £20k for a start, and you can actually make a fair few quid if you go to a successful intermediary (tip - car insurance is a rubbish product, go for Life, mortgages or PMI).

foxbat - where did you find that info? i couldn't see it on the website. did you have a chat with him? you don't seem impressed? he seemed pretty genuine in the videos on the site, so i'm not sure it's a big scam. that said i'm far from sure that it isn't!
surely though the 20k gives you something in return other than just a training course. there must be costs associated with getting in a position to broker insurance, surely that's a part of it? otherwise, you're saying they're asking people to give them 20k for a training course or something similar?

If you're keen mate then go ahead, but as I say:
- If you're keen on being an IFA then work out yourself what you need to do to get FSA regulated, and work out yourself what it's going to cost.
- If you're just speculating, go work for a brokers on commission and see if you've got the touch. Plenty of people don't - I know, I used to manage some of them.
- If you're not sure what you're getting yourself into - keep your £20k firmly wedged in your pocket.
