Anyone working in Airfield Eng or similar?
I'm currently in Ground Radio at an RAF station and would be leaving in 2012 and wondered what the civilian airfield eng/comms work, renumeration is.
I'm trade group 4 so have experience in both proper engineering in electronics, radar and radio comms but also can do IT based stuff like cisco networking, SMS, exchange server etc.
Trying to suss out which will be the better career to move into when I leave.
IT contracting should be good if I can make the most of my security clearance but I really enjoy being able to work to depth on electronics and understand electronics theory (digital and analogue) so it'd be a shame to lose those skills.
