Right here on pistonheads of course! Whether you want to be berated for being an idle slacker, told you can be an astronaut or simply made to feel a failure by legions of people who were MD by the age of 15 and wouldn't work for less than a premier league footballer, THIS is the place!
Seriously, I would talk to as many people as possible. Recruitment consultants can be helpful if you find a good one, former colleagues, clients, associates or anyone whose job you think "hmm, that might be interesting."
Don't rule out websites etc but there's no substitute for talking to people.

My problem at the moment is I am reasonably well qualified as an Engineer, a Desmond from Staffs Uni, a Masters from Coventry, but I have spent more time either unemployed, or looking to move than I have working happily for a company. So I need to figure out what I can move into with my qualifications that won't have me starting on SFA at the age of 33. I really need to find something I can make a career in, and I am struggling to think what I can get into with minimal retraining.
Apply for everything that vaguely takes your fancy, I got my IT job by applying for a job as a data entry slave via an agency, they took one look at my cv and passed it to the company that provided their IT support, who then offered me a job (that didnt exist and wasnt advertised) on the basis that i was a good candidate for a position they were going to open in a few months.
Ive been here 3 years, business is booming and its a good job (although I'm planning on leaving soon (another story))
