Go for it, HP are a good one to work for and this is an excellent contract. What role have you been offered.

It's working at HP for Fujitsu as part of Atlas for the DII as an integration engineer

Worked for them for 6 weeks in 04 as a consultant. Was great being based from home and working day started when you stepped foot out of the door. On the down side the job role I was given didn't quite match what was sold to me, hence the 6 weeks!

Go on, in what sense?

I based in what you could call a safe, but boring role at the moment

Dull work, predictable, a good contract with some good security.

I'd pick Fujitsu over HP at the moment; marginally better terms. If you are off the Fujitsu sites and working under a HP team you might find it a bit remote from the Fujitsu stuff - depends if you want a career there or something interim. HP guys are pretty good and the guys I know there are quite happy.

@me?

I am a specialised consultant in a particular Service Management tool and the initial 4/5 weeks meant doing that. Then week 6 they wanted me to go and consult on Oracle Financials....very odd. Turns out their consultants are all wingers, no in depth experience of doing one stream of work. HTH

Fujitsu took over the contract I was working on a couple of years ago. Worst company I ever worked for. Wouldn't go anywhere near them again.

Secretive, wouldn't listen to feedback. Changed functions directly affecting the workforce but didn't tell anybody. They seemed to like undermining staff and used under developed applications to send us calls with no history. Hence you'd turn up and have to spend time discovering what had been done previously. There was once a contractor suppling a team of 4 or 5 to run an audit over a period of several weeks.
Deadline approached and the permanent staff, one Fri afternoon around lunch time (about 25 people) were ordred to drop everything and audit x machines each.

Said audit was completed within about 5 hours, 125 man hours.
