My company announced they were going into administration/liquidation today. Will the administrators or liquidators look to pay salaries owed?

Essentially, yes, they will try to pay what is due to both employees and other creditors. In effect, they are taking over the running of the company and not necessarilly putting it into liquidation - just yet.
