Photo on a CV - Yes or No?

As an employer I want a simple easy to read classic cv, no photo, no tea bag, no £10 note in fact no gimmicks at all!
And yes I have had a tea bag coupled with the line "make youself a cup of tea, sit comfortably and take 20 min reading my cv". The £10 came asking me to return the £10 if he didn't get invited to interview!
Set yourself apart by writing clearly and concisely focus on what you added to your role. Spare me the rest!

Recruiters see the photo 1st make a snap judgement on you then review the CV (if you are lucky). I once took over a new role & the 1st priority was to hire half a dozen guys. I had 200+ CV's. My 1st sift, was a 5 second look at each CV. In many cases I excluded the CV because I didn't like the photo & for no other reason. I had to differentiate candidates & the phot helped me do that in a negative way.

I've used a very similar technique. Trying to get from several hundred CVs to a small enough number to interview means that not all decisions are rational and many are many on the basis of expediency. If an employer had enough time to spend several hundred hours carefully considering CVs then they wouldn't need to recruit someone, instead just doing the job themselves.Recruiters see the photo 1st make a snap judgement on you then review the CV (if you are lucky). I'm neither employer nor recruiter, but have just been through the hiring process...
One of the agencies I contacted queried whether I wanted to "re-send my CV with a photo attached". I asked why; he couldn't really give me a definitive reason, just said that "it seems to be becoming more regular" to attach a photo, so "prospective employers could put a face to the name".
I suppose the less-scrupulous employer might get used as a preliminary sifting mechanism...

That recruiter just wanted to see if you were good looking and if so they would say you need to come in for a face to face interview ...One of the agencies I contacted queried whether I wanted to "re-send my CV with a photo attached".
