Looking for Telesales people however finding it hard to fill the positions.
I normally use gumtree for basic jobs however looked at Monster for the telesales roles.
Apart from spending £300 not much else has happened!
What am I doing wrong? The position is Mon - Fri 9AM -5:30PM and I am looking to pay 12k - 15k PA.
The job has no hard sale and its not all cold calling.
Its B2B just sending prices out and following up.
Do I need to pay more for that?, Any other sites or places to look? Thinking about the job centre.. any experience with that?

what about if you split the hours down for part time workers or two people doing job share, not sure how much extra work/cost is involved for you. But it might appeal to mums with kids etc that just want to work a few hours to bring home a little extra cash. someone might want to work Monday, Wednesday, Friday and someone else might be happy with two days a week... I could understand if it caused you extra grief...but just an idea that might have been overlooked

IMO The salary at 12k is really too low for that close to London (although I don't know the area so if I'm wrong please slap me down) - it's less than 20p per hour above the national minimum wage to boot. That's bound to be putting people off a bit. Put "up to 15k" on the ad and you might get some more interest, although TBH I'd be thinking about a more attractive top line to attract people to the job.
"Telesales" has a lot of negative connotations, it's probably best to use different wording, more along the lines of "Business to Business Internal Sales" which sounds a bit less mind-numbing.
As for the Job Centre, this is a good time for it - a lot of good people are being laid off at the moment, and the "advisors" love to put anyone who used a computer in their previous role (including company directors!) down as "general admin" so you could get some good people.

Maybe I should up the wage?
I have 12k - 15k on the adverts (gumtree etc) and up to 25k on the Monster one, which I have had a reply this morning!! (At last!)
It's a simple job - all I need is people to send out prices and follow it up. No long scripts or hard sale, it's B2B too and the customers are on the whole nice people to speak to.
Its an everyday branded product for our customers and we are competitive so the prices speak for themseleves. As long as the person is polite, thats all i'm after. (I thought 15k with no experience isn't bad?)
What should I up it too? Average order value is £50 ish new staff get around 1-5 new accounts a day by calling 100+ people.

Go to an agency.
Choose 2 or 3 local to your area and you will have the people in place for the price you want.
Depends if you really have time to Advertise, interview, employ, payroll etc, perhaps your time could be spent doing other things.
Thanks for that.Choose 2 or 3 local to your area and you will have the people in place for the price you want.

I spoke to one today pushing for me to take temps and how that is the best option. They take £1 an hour or 10% of the salary if full time....
Is that normal sort of fees?
Will try another one tomorrow.

Have you considered setting things up so your staff could work from home ?
Im more think payment on a call by call basis so the hours could be flexible. Maybe an option for students.
This would be good and we have the systems in place however I don't think I would like just anyone new speaking on behalf of the business without being able to check what is being said or making sure they are saying the right things?Im more think payment on a call by call basis so the hours could be flexible.
