I've a question regarding Plaxo and Linkedin, I've created the free accounts on each and am wondering if I'm missing something, as on Plaxo there used to be a search function to find people. Now it seems you can only search for people in your contacts, when I'm actually looking to make new contacts.

Basically do I need to upgrade to premium membership on each to search for new connections and to add them to my network?

dunno about Plaxo, but on Linkedin, no you dont

been on there for year, very useful ...its the only networking site of any kind I use generally...other than car forums of course
