Extra work required

Evening all,

I have been working since I graduated - work is going well. However, I'm looking to take on an extra job evenings/weekends to bolster my bank balance.

Due to the nature of my work, overtime isn't possible.

All I can really think of is bar work or delivering for dominos (don't know how insurance would work).

Any one have any other ideas?

I am Competent with computers/numbers etc

Supermarket or retail of some sort, very flexible with hours in general and usually time and a half on Sundays.

I juggle Uni with a Nightshift job. Around this I also take on work to bolster by bank balance or reduce my credit card balances...anyway I would recommend you look for jobs which are temporary which have no real set working hours. For instance I've managed to find work being a census enumerator - it pays well and has no set hours. Also I have on a few occasions delivered a batch of yellow pages. Again no set hours and the pay is okay.

If you've got a economical car then consider being a takeaway delivery driver. If it's in an affluent area you'll make it worth its while in tips. You'll lose your Friday and Saturday nights but you could earn 100 quid plus in a weekend if your lucky.

Anywhere I can. I just regularly check all the usual job sites and local newspaper websites. The census one I found in the The Scotsman newspaper's website. The yellow pages was advertized on gumtree. I would also recommend checking the job centre plus website; they allow you to search for jobs at less than 16 hours per week also you can search on the word "temporary". S1 jobs again just search in your region with the word temporary.

It is just a case of continually looking, checking every day or so. Something always comes up.

You could try for jobs with no set working hours which employ people on an as and when basis. Something like telesales or market research.

One other idea perhaps to make a bit of money; although not much, mystery shopping. Beware this doesn't pay much.

A friend of mine used to do mystery shopping for the Beefeater chain. They got very very fed up of eating pub grub at it's worst.
