Big Four consulting: What is the best way in ?

Aside from direct contact / networking or seeing a specific role advertised on their websites, can anyone with experience of a Big Four firm advise if any specific recruitment agencies can provide a way in to a consulting role ?

I have ambitions on an associate / junior manager role in a valuation, transaction or corporate finance department in the next 6-9 months and could use some ideas of how I realise this.

28 years old
2:1 Finance

Just check the accounting job sites and accounting magazines - Accountancy, Accountancy Age etc.

You'll find most of their recruiters on linkedin.

As Eric says, look in the trade press. The ones I have worked for have also advertised most of their roles on their websites (especially at the lower grades). I know that PwC, Deloitte & KPMG use many different agencies and some claim semi-exclusivity which is usually incorrect. If you know anyone working in one of those firms in the right line of service then speak with them and see if they will do an employee referral as there will likely be a bounty for a successful hire and their reference will stand you in reasonable stead.

My Mrs got a cold call from Deloitte in December about a job because they found her CV on Monster. She starts on 21 Feb.

Apply direct to each firm, they all have websites and direct hiring people within the firms.
