Lost Employment contract

Will my employer's HR dept. not have a copy? I am on a training contract, but have lost my copy

I have a feeling that they will try to not book my courses as they are making redundancies, is there any way I can find out my terms of employment? Or is the onus on me to prove that I am on a study contract and not a regular contract?
