New career - but what?

Unfortunately, both myself and my wife are being made redundant and we have our 1st baby due to arrive very soon.

So, I am possibly looking for a new career, maybe a change of direction.

What can I do with these skills?

Recent:-

Quality management in pharmaceutical industry; including, quality & regulatory compliance auditing (main function); systems analyst and developer of new IT solutions, project management, application manager of several IT systems, self motivated and used to working in a huge multi natonal company which included travel and working at different sites in the US.

Prior:-

Head of Quality Assurance at Bioanalytical Contract Research Laboratories; UK, Switzerland and Canada.

Head of Quality Assurance at Pharmaceutical contract research organisation; data management and statistics quality audit.

Data Manager at Pharmaceutical contract research organisation.

Motor trade and motor trade suppliers; parts & service manager.

Electro-Mechanical engineering (pneumatics & hydraulics); basically a design draughtsman!

Good call, quite diverse.

Although, in my experience - this role is usually occupied by someone with a financial background.

You appear to be quite specialist, when looking at corporate type roles I don't think you will be able to find an easy fit.

Is there a consultancy type environment to which you might fit ?

Or if you have extensive data quality skills, might a role in Financial Services be possible?

With your senior background, experience of IT systems and project management you might get a shout in the City either via a perm role or contract role. Given budget contraints in my world (Investment Banking) there is an increasing use of short term contracts to fill roles until budgets rise and more perms can be added to the headcount.
