I have been working for Nokia for 15 years and last Wednesday was told that Nokia are making me redundant.
The mobile phone industry is somewhere where i would rather not be as i can see that it will get even more cut throat in the next few years.

I was thinking about taking the redundancy money and re training. All the childhood dreams of careers are back on the table. However, i need a fast track into the new career as i have limited funds, mortgage and dependents now.

I was toying with the idea of commercial air line pilot - but this was found to be a training fee of just under £100k with no garantee of a job at the end.

Other jobs that i would like to pursue are: Optician, Pharmacist, Motorway Police.....

Does anyone know a fast track way of getting into these careers?

Which qualifications do you currently hold? Am I right in thinking you have an engineering background?

Qualifications held are in Engineering. I have a HND in Electronics and Electrical engineering and a BSC in Telecommunications electronics.
