I'm about to replace the rear tyres on my '05 M6 and have narrowed it down to the following -
Michelin PS2 - £263 each
Pirelli PZero Rosso – £277 each
Continental Sport Contact 5P - £267 each
Swaying towards the Michelins, seems like a decent price and have been very happy with them on previous cars. Anyone got any preferences on the above selection of tyres? Or indeed alternatives...
I know Vredesteins are well regarded by some people on these cars but I'm struggling to find a supplier, can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm in Northern Ireland so would need somewhere that delivers.
Thanks,
Stu

Can you tell what size tyres are on your m6
Just seeing if they are different to my e60 m5.
I'd personally choose Michelin.
Less tyre noise, more grip in both dry and wet over Pirellis.
When I had pzeros on my M6, they felt really hard.
It performed quite well after a warm up (nearly as good as Michelin) but in general it wasn't as good as Michelin PS2. PS3 might even be better.
I wouldn't recommend Contis if you drive your car quite hard.
At the moment I'm running
255/40/19 front michelin PS2
285/35/19 rear pzero (had to change to pzeros from michelin due to tyre puncture)
now I have 295/35/19 Michelin PS3s waiting to be fitted.
I just need some deserted place in Midlands where I can burn some tyres before I change..

Without a doubt i would take the continental everytime,
living up in scotlkand and having poor weather alot, i found that these area fantastic all rounder, probably unbeatable in wet driving in my z4mc when i had it.
the new michelin's are a cracking dry tire, once they get a bit of heat in they really grip, but tread depth is reduced from new and in my experience just dont give the feel of the conti.
if you can try and get a conti 3 and not a 5 (i found the 3 a nicer tyre) but both brilliant.
they even managed to come with a couple of track days, although a pretty soft compound overall.
