e46 m3 strange noise from instrument cluster
Discussion
Hello all,
I've been cleaning my car today and fiddling around with it generally.
Anyway, I noticed as I was about to put the car away that the front indicators flashed once, and thought I'd accidentally locked/unlocked the car as it flashes when this happens.
However, even though fob was in my pocket, it was unlocked still. I put the key in the ignition, and the instrument binacle now makes a strange buzzing sound at the first ignition positon, which appears to be the rev counter and speedo needles moving slightly.
Also, the time as set on the dash has now been lost each time I put the key in the ignition. Same with MPG and average speed memory reset on stalk.
Car starts fine. Buzzing stops after about 2 seconds.
Any ideas? Is the battery low? I've not used the car much in the last week. But seems weird all the same.
Thanks in advance.

Problem solved.
I thought I'd have a look at it again with a fresh start.
Fuse 43 was not fitted, one of three for instrument cluster. It is now and all fine.
The car has been away for some bodywork, and the electric mirrors don't work as they should.
Not sure if this was taken out by mistake, or whatever, but I am missing a 5 amp fuse none the less.
At least I have sorted it out.
Always start with the simple things, even if it seems stupid at the time.
