Any excuse for some final pics! (sorry about the quality, only just finished and im using the phone). The new owner collects next saturday so id be rude not to get my hands wet one last time.

10am start and a 3.30pm finish. Long day in the cold. At least it was dry. Car got a full engine bay clean, interior clean, body clean and heavy duty wax, followed by finishing with tyre dressing. Good thing the forecast for the week is rain!!!!

Yeah, but i feel ready to move on now. Im glad i didnt sell last April now (even though ive lost money in keeping it) as i had more life boxes to tick and i sure did that. LM trip was ace.

The mew car has 490bhp and about the same torque, thats all i'll say for now.

That looks sensational Eddie. Shame to see you leave the fold, your buyers guide really was the right info at the right time for me when I was considering buying an M5. What are you going to? Saw your RS4 review, probably not one of them then smile

Nope, not an RS4. They are asking too much down at Audi for one of those and i found it a bit of a non-event.

This is the replacement. Hopefully pick it up saturday after the M5 goes. Performance Pack Plus, very high spec, only 10k on the clock, 1 owner.

The C63 with Performance Pack Plus has 487 bhp and 600 nm torque (443 lbs)... scratchchin

Two class cars.
Though I'd take the E61 myself, in that combo it's just an absolutely fantastic looking car.
Enjoy the new machine though, should be wild!

Im hoping the new owner pops along to the forum after he's gotten used to it. He sounds like a top guy and has had M5's before. Currently in an E39 i believe. Anyway, he'll show up if he wants to.

I have to say I'm very surprised by your choice.....just think M-cars are that bit better.

I had two hours of fun in a C63 at Snetterton.....wild child for sure and a lot of fun, but didn't like it at all as a road car. Hated the gearbox, the ride and the lack of traction.....truly awful in the wet.

I hope you like it though, as that's all that matters of course.

Look forward to hearing how you get on...hope all goes well!

Yeah, i can see the negatives in the C63. Ive driven loads of them in different guises and never really had a firm decision made. Might be like the M5 and will just take a little bit of time to get used to.

Is that the one that's been advertised (from memory Nottingham, or Bishops Stortford!?) I forget now, probably the colour put a few off? I very nearly went to look at that having tested a couple nearer to home, but my RS6+ is/was the same colour so I looked elsewhere. I also tested a similar spec silver ppp saloon at Speeds iirc. I now have a grey m-lite!!

Enjoy it Eddie

Yeah, its steadily come down in price over the past 2 months. The day it hit £35k (from £39,995) there were callers all over it. I only made the cut by 5 mins. The colour actually looks really good IMO, but thats just me. I could have had Mars Red but i felt that was too dark. To be honest it was the price and spec that sold it to me. That and the low miles for its age.

Your E61 looks stunning after the clean and polish, best of luck to the new owner...and thumbs up to you for what you've brought to this forum during your period of ownership. I tend to "lurk" more than contribute, but as an E61 M5 owner too, have enjoyed reading your posts.

The C63 AMG is a fabulous car and looks great in red - pretty rare with the PPP too, I'm sure you'll love it. I borrowed one from a dealer for a weekend a year and a bit ago. Had a great time contrasting it to the M5. In fact with the good deals to be had right now I'm furtively toying with the idea of one (or an M135i) to replace my Focus ST-260 and share with the wife (who loved the C63, but has never really got on with my M5). Would you mind PM'ing me the deal you got on your car?

Regards,

Gary.
