just kept up the service nothing else ,lets keep it simple ,engine transmission ,etc

Just wondering as an e92 owner - I've not seen anything really on problems with the s65, in fact the opposite and it's v reliable

Why is this, my understanding was its basically 80% of the v10. Did they redesign it much?

thats my understanding why do people say "never run a v10 without factory warranty "

i've looked on loads of forums and not really found that much ,

£2000 for a warranty with bmw for a 70k m5 come on,i only do 6/7000 miles a year

yes there's always the clutch but after 5k the dealer should pick up the bill any way under fit for purpose or sale of goods act

Don't think there are any significant issues with the V10 itself. Most, if not all, of the concerns about running an M5/M6 relate to gearbox and clutch. Apart from that, they're pretty robust.

I'm 500 miles in and it hasn't missed a beat (43k on the clock), it has been rather mind blowing actually, totally changed my perception of what a car is.

v10 aside however the auto dimming wing mirror has decided to go pop!

Hi Dave!

I didn't have chance to talk about this when last time we met.
My M6 just hit 72k on the clock, I do 60 miles commute every day.
So far the car had radiator leak so new radiator at 46k,
footwell cover was very lose for some reason, so replaced at 48k,
VANOS and O2 sensor problem at 57k,

Another friend of mine also had radiator leak at 49k on his M6

now my car is at 72k, the car went in for Gearbox inspection yesterday
they're taking out the gearbox as we speak,
car didn't give me red cog of death but it was juddering from deadstop.
Other members here with E60/61/63/64 M5, M6 had similar problems so I wanted to check
also since the last oil service (last week) the oil level on dash board went down from 1L to 0.4L in 100miles
no leak found,

i'll come back to you once I get some update,
i'm driving Alpina D5 at the moment..

Bought an M6 new in June 06 and sold it in June 2012. Only 18000 miles ( multiple cars). Only issue was complere ECU replacement under warranty at 12000 miles, a big job. They told me I was not driving it enough which the electronics did not likesmile. Engine was great.

New clutch and flywheel at 67k (was on original). New throttle actuators and lambda sensors. New illuminated door sills. Nothing too bad to be honest.

Hi there,
May I ask if the new clutch and flywheels were changed under warranty or at your cost?
CHeers!

At my cost - I don't have a warranty on my M6. 67k miles on the original clutch is more than acceptable to me.

M5, done 110k... 25 with me, no issues, believe still on original clutch as i am the 2nd owner.
had to replace front brakes and tyres, a ball joint and the power steering fluid all of which i consider service items.
