Afternoon,

Sorting out details for an M3 lease and got the options list! There are a lot of options.
Which are the good ones to have?

cheers

Fpr starters:
DCT
19's
Heated seats
Parking sensors f/r
Upgrade sound
Sun protection
Carbon Leather trim

If funds allow...Comp Pack

Choice of spec is very personal though.

Very...but expensive.
There's other options for the sound system, not just the HK, which are also good.
I'm sure others will chip in and there'll be a wide range of experiences with the different sound systems.

My preference (mixture of want and cost):
DCT
19's
Heated seats
Updgraded Media pack
Upgraded Loud speaker system (not HK £900!!!!)
Didn't go carbon in the end, was close tho have it in my current car but thought the standard Titanium is nice

I assume all the HiFi's have USB input for iPhone?

Is the HK just an improvement in speakers or does it change the hardware too?
Do you get subs with any of the packages?

I'd suggest upgraded media if you want to connect an iPhone and have the use of the apps and full iTunes playlists/genius etc. Also can't remember what it's called but there's an "extended Bluetooth" option. Nothing more annoying than paying to upgrade the amps/speakers then having rubbish connectivity to the music sources.

I also like adaptive headlights and full beam assist.

What about the Competition Pack?
I know it's a bit pricey but those CSL style alloys cloud9

Yep....Comp pack is awesome....the wheels, EDC and lowered 10mm. Good value too when compared to the individual pricing of the wheels and EDC.
It's the one thing I didn't spec on mine, but will be having it when I order my next one in a few months.
The demo I originally had for 48hrs had it....regretted not going for it.

19's for look...18's for ride....but with EDC the 19's ride is sweet anyway...and those Comp Pack CSL 19's are just gorgeous!!

For me my key options were:
- EDC (gives you options for comfortable ride, or stiffer for when you're pressing on. )
- Harmon Kardon (I like my tunes. Comes with DSP, subs under front seats, and upgraded speakers all round)
- USB Audio Interface (for iPod)
- Adaptive headlights
- 19" wheels (for looks more than anything) - Competition pack
- Extended leather (improves quality feel of cabin)
- Carbon Leather trim (having seen it, the other options just feel cheap)
- Extended storage (cup holders)
- Enhanced bluetooth - comes with Media pack I think - gives better quality audio, and allows audio streaming over bluetooth.
- DCT is a matter of choice. I like it in mine, and found the manual notchy on my previous one. Others opinions vary.

I would say that the car out of the box is superb and doesn't really need anything, but my choice would be:

Heated seats (cold mornings)
Comp pack (those wheels!)
EDC (makes the ride on the 19" nice and fluid)
HK (good system and much better than HK in the old e46)
Piano black trim (I just like it)
Adaptive lights (Citroen's brilliant idea)
Shadow chrome trim (looks good)
Privacy glass (gangsta init)

Hated the carbon interior on a loan car I had while mine was being fixed after someone went into the back of it. Looks and feels cheap compared to the piano black.

EDC was a noticeable difference in that it gave more confidence driving it like a hooligan (not that you ever would, in a loan car).

DCT was incredible for the first hour, till it felt like I'd had most of the fun of driving taken off me. Having said that, it made driving a piece of cake with no fatigue while stuck in traffic feathering a clutch constantly.

Heated seats are most welcome right now in mine, and the front AND rear parking sensors are essential (to me).

you not tempted by the limited editions with additional spec at low cost?
