Thoughts on well run-in F10 M5 please
Discussion
O wise people of Pistonheads - could do with hearing your experiences please...
Here's the sketch: my daily driver is an old Mk5 R32, and I've just tested this little baby - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/b... - with the idea that it would help me to decide whether to chop the Golf for the F10 on a 0% deal.
It's an absolutely stunning car - grown-up, playful and ridiculously overpowered - but this example was Lovetts' static demonstrator, so I drove it with 21 miles on the clock.
The problem, and I know the Golf spoils me with its soundtrack, is that I found the M a wee bit remote: I already resented it for playing the sound of an engine through the speakers, but even WITH that I could barely hear it wasn't a 530d. So... what I wanted to ask those who have run one for some time is: does the sound get a bit more interesting as the exhaust and engine loosen up, or am I just asking too much of a luxobarge?
Any thoughts very much appreciated.
Thanks guys

My wife drives a 3.2 TT so I know what you mean about sound track.
I'm 15,000 miles in with my M5 - the sound won't get any better without spending some money on a new exhaust.
But the car will grow on you as you get to know it - it may be heavy but luxobarge is definitely not a word I would use to describe it.

The F10 M5 is a hefty beast, but don't be fooled: it handles way better than the E60 and can transform from a luxury cruiser to a monster of a car at the touch of a button.
Many of these cars are pumping out 600bhp stock.
I tried to hate it, but a morning at Snetterton had me smitten......it's due at the end of May!!

Sorry no personal experience , but these seem to be dropping in price at quite a rate
30k in 2015? I'l be haveing one when they do!
Yes - and the three-year 0% deals rolling off then will really not help. I'd be nervous about buying one without the comfort blanket of a GFV.30k in 2015? I'l be haveing one when they do!

Yeah, I think that's probably the case. But it would take some SERIOUS man maths to talk myself into dropping another £xk on an exhaust to make it sound more like the car it's replacing..! Then there's obviously the warranty thing to think about. Thanks again
