e46 m3 speaker balance

I have probably missed something here so i expect this is a silly question, but after sifting through the operating manual for this car i cant seem to be able to adjust the front to rear balance, it will alter left and right but not back and front, its too loud for passengers at the back and can only just hear it at the front, thinking about it my e36 was the same and yes the front speakers do work before any one asks lol. a bit of a stupid set up if its not adjustable as i frequently have passengers in the back and have to turn it down to a level suited to them, but i can barely hear it in the front

You can definitely alter the balance from front to back. It should be the setting after left/right balance when you go through the menu. It might be called fade or something like that - trying to remember off the top of my head.

It's on the tone menu on mine (with nav).
