F10 Oil Top Up

The F10 likes to drink a bit of oil and the top ups are part of the service inclusive package, but (unlike Porsche) the dealer won't give me an additional litre bottle to leave in the boot of the car so that I'm not caught out (e.g. if it's mid-week and I just don't have time to get to the dealer for a few days). So I've reluctantly bought some myself. Just wondered what others have done about this - it's not big money, but I just begrudge paying for oil which ought to be included and when I know that Porsche do it without even being asked!

I have an RS4, and the litre top up pack is on the invoice I pay at service time. I am sure that I also used to pay when I had the Porsche.

BMW Service Inclusive Terms and Conditions
1 BMW Service Inclusive and Service Inclusive Plus cover the following items:
a) BMW Service Inclusive covers the cost of parts, labour and fluids for the following service items: engine oil service, engine oil top-up, brake fluid (at 3rd year only), air filter, micro filter, fuel filter (diesel models only) and spark plugs. These items are covered from the date of first registration for a period of 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs sooner).
b) BMW Service Inclusive Plus covers the cost of parts, labour and fluids for the following service items: engine oil service, engine oil top-up, brake fluid (at 3rd year only), air filter, micro filter, fuel filter (diesel models only) and spark plugs. It also covers the cost of the following maintenance items if required due to wear and tear: brake pads, brake discs, brake sensors, wiper blade rubbers (up to 2 sets within the package period) and clutch. These items are covered from the date of first registration for a period of 5 years or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs sooner).
2 Items not specifically mentioned above and items requiring replacement or repair due to excessive wear and tear or misuse are not covered by BMW Service Inclusive or BMW Service Inclusive Plus.
3 Work carried out under the BMW Service Inclusive or Service Inclusive Plus programmes will be indicated by the vehicle’s on-board computer
and BMW guidelines. Work must be carried out in line with BMW service schedules and BMW repair instructions (copies of which are available on request) which may be updated or vary from time to time according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
4 If vehicles have undergone any form of unapproved aftermarket tuning or performance enhancement, any right to request services or parts under BMW Service Inclusive or BMW Service Inclusive Plus ceases with immediate effect.
5 Servicing must be carried out at a BMW Service Authorised Workshop by BMW Approved Technicians as specified in the Owner’s Manual.
6 BMW Service Inclusive and BMW Service Inclusive Plus are transferable to subsequent owners of the car but not transferable to another car.
7 Costs paid for BMW Service Inclusive and BMW Service Inclusive Plus are non refundable.
8 Where BMW Service Inclusive comes as standard with the vehicle, customers can opt-out up to the point of vehicle registration.

In my experience they only top up when the car says 'top up required', if the oil is low but not low enough to set off the 'top up required' they won't top it up. This may vary from dealer to dealer but that's the line from my dealer.
My dealer says the same thing. They plug the car's key into their computer to check for the top up message. The oil top up is obviously only part of the service inclusive package, but I'm finding it a bit of a waste of time because I tend to need a top up when using the car in the week and don't have time to go to a dealer.just had the running in service done, and they have put a fresh litre bottle in the boot for me, there was one there when i collected the car too. Cooper say its part of he service inclusive package, so I'd argue that one.
How will you know exactly when you will need a litre? you need it in the boot. Even comes with a rubber pouch thing with a bag in that velcros to the carpet on he side of the boot.

But I have been into two different dealers same day oil light came on. Both times they took the key fob, plugged it into their system and it didn't come up as oil req'd so they refused to supply.
Toys were thrown out of pram and now don't bother wasting my time.
