1M PSS VS PS2.

How have those of you who have had the PSS'S fitted found the wear rate ? Obviously it depends greatly on how you drive but I just wanted to get a general feel for their lifecycle as in if driven hard will they melt in 6000 miles like the Cups on my old CSL did ?
Im currently looking at options on a new set all round. I have to be honest and say that I didn't find my PS2's to be that bad especially as the fronts have lasted 18700 miles and the rears had done 11500 before I changed them due to a flat,i think I could have squeezed another 1500 miles out of them before this.
After the puncture I swapped the rears for some P Zeros with the view to eventually having these all round but have not been that impressed,grip was average coupled with a high wear rate such that they are already lower than the original PS2 fronts.
Im sure the PSS's are stickier and softer as has been said before and may well improve the ride slightly but I don't really want to be swapping new rubber every six months if the wear rate is too high. I use my car everyday so want some reasonable life from whatever I fit so im wondering how the PSS's will wear compared to the PS2's under similar driving conditions,do we know? How many miles has anyone done on a set already?
Or are there any other other options worth considering?

I swapped mine all round for the PSS and I have to say that the wear rate on them is better than the PS2. Not only that, but the ride is much better, there is less road noise and they have a lot more grip, especially in the wet.
I'm running mine with a custom Ray West geo with adjusted tyre pressures and the grip levels are astounding. Having owned a Lotus Exige before the 1M, the grip my car now produces is on a par with the Exige. Its really that good and the PSS play a big part in that. I'd highly recommend them!

Just put a set on mine, too early to comment on the wear, but share Chris's views. Great improvement in grip, noise and ride. Softer sidewall than the ps2 I think, so slightly worse on initial turn in but then they just stick. More traction too.
Chris, interested to know what pressures your running. I'm running standards pressures but think a few more psi might be good.

I'm actually running slightly lower than the stock PS2 pressures Pete. When Ray West carried out the geo tweaks, he felt that my pressures were slightly too high. So he changed them to 32 psi front and 34 psi rear. It does feel very good now!Chris, interested to know what pressures your running. Not got them on a 1M, but on a Z4MC.
Swapped my OEM Conti SportContact M3s (neither grippy or long-lasting) for PSS about 18 months ago. The rears lasted 20k/10 months (500-600 miles per week, mostly motorway, but regular Welsh hoons and 2 x 3-day 'Ring trips), and then had to change them. Couldn't get PSS in a hurry so fitted PS2s. 12k/6 months later and the PS2s are on the canvas.
Just fitted another set of rear PSSs and will see how they last. The fronts still have 4mm across the tread and they've done close to 35k.
The strange thing is the PS2s have only had road/hoon use and no 'Ring trips (except for the drift day I did last week at Oulton when I realised the PS2s needed replacing).
Think I'll be sticking to the PSSs!
